The Baker and Photographer
About Crumb Alchemy
Cakes are my canvas.
Before cakes, there was photography.
For years I worked as a professional wedding photographer, chasing beautiful light and honest moments. I learned that the smallest details often carry the most emotion — and that the ordinary can become extraordinary when you really pay attention.
Eventually, I realized I was looking for that same feeling in the kitchen.
Ideas have a habit of arriving at inconvenient times — usually when I should be asleep. They begin as dreams, become sketches and notes, and eventually turn into cake. That's my creative spark. Crumb Alchemy is where I follow those ideas.
I believe baking is a kind of alchemy. Flour, butter, eggs, chocolate, spices and time are ordinary on their own. Together, they become something that comforts us, surprises us, and brings people together. That's a little magical, don't you think?
I still see the world through a photographer's eyes. Light, texture, negative space, imperfect frosting, dried flowers, scattered crumbs — I love the beauty of things that feel honest rather than perfect.
This is my creative practice. A place where photography and baking meet, where imagination takes shape, and where I get to make beautiful things with my hands.
If something here makes you pause, smile, or suddenly crave cake… I'd say the alchemy is working.
